Mystery Guitar

Post by Mary O'Leary »

I recently picked up a guitar at an estate sale and I could use help trying to identify the maker or help figuring out if this is a flattop that was retrofitted. I am not a lap steel guitar player so I am out of my league and could use some help. I picked this forum because it looks custom made to me but I am truly not sure. If I need to direct this elsewhere, let me know. ImageImageImageImageImageImage

It looks like a home made instrument to me, built by someone who knows their woodworking. The neck joint looks a bit loose based on the photo, but everything else appears to be proper.
Is there a pickup installed? Does it work?

I don't recognize the builder, but I'd love to try out the instrument and see how it sounds.

The joint looks pretty tight to me, but the finish looks missing around the joint. Maybe a neck reset? Cool guitar I bet it sounds good, I love flattops.
